1. Batchim Basics: The 7 Base Sounds

Final Consonants	Base Sound	Example
ㄱ, ㅋ, ㄲ	k	박 (bak), 책 (chaek)
ㄴ	n	산 (san)
ㄷ, ㅅ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅌ, ㅎ	t	옷 (ot), 꽃 (kkot)
ㄹ	l	별 (byeol)
ㅁ	m	밤 (bam)
ㅂ, ㅍ	p	밥 (bap)
ㅇ	ng	강 (gang)

2. Liaison (연음): The Carry-Over Rule

When the next block starts with a vowel (initial ㅇ), the final consonant "jumps" into that spot:

밥 + 이 → sounds like 바비 (ba-bi)
옷 + 이 → sounds like 오시 (o-si)
강 + 에 → sounds like 가응에 (ga-ŋe)
