💡 Why Learn to Type in Korean?
Typing in Korean is essential for chatting with Korean friends, searching online, or writing in Korean class. It also helps you get familiar with Hangul character combinations and boosts your overall Korean fluency!
Many beginners feel overwhelmed at first, but don’t worry — you don’t need a special keyboard! You just need the Korean keyboard layout and a little bit of practice.
🛠️ How to Install a Korean Keyboard
📱 On Mobile (iOS & Android)

Go to Settings > Language & Input

Add Korean (Hangul) as a keyboard language

You can now switch between languages with the globe 🌐 or space bar
💻 On Windows

Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language

Add Korean language pack

Enable "Microsoft IME" for Hangul typing

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources

Click + and choose Korean > 2-Set Korean

🎯 Korean Keyboard Layout: What to Know
The standard layout is called “2-Set Korean” and it looks different from QWERTY:
