💡 Why Learn the Future Tense?

Future tense lets you share what you’re going to do, so your conversations feel lively and real. It’s essential for making plans, invitations, promises with friends, coworkers, or family.

📖 How to Form -(으)ㄹ 거예요

  • Vowel-ending verb: add -ㄹ 거예요 → 가다 → 갈 거예요 (I will go)
  • Consonant-ending verb: add -을 거예요 → 먹다 → 먹을 거예요 (I will eat)
  • ㄹ-ending verb: keep ㄹ + 거예요 → 살다 → 살 거예요 (I will live)

🧩 Teacher’s Tips

  • Don’t drop “거예요”. Saying just “갈” is incomplete—use 갈 거예요.
  • -(으)ㄹ 거예요 vs -(으)ㄹ게요: 거예요 = plan/prediction. ㄹ게요 = promise/volunteering to the listener (e.g., “제가 할게요”).
  • Sound natural with time words: 내일/곧/아마/다음 주… Put them at the start.
