🧪 TOPIK Starter Series — Part 8: Mock-Test Routine (Weekly Plan, Error Tags, Score Tracker)

Are you studying a lot but unsure if you’re improving?

Mocks turn vague study into a measured system: same timing, same steps, clear data. Do one every week and your weak spots become checklists.

주 1회 모의고사로 실력을 수치화하세요. 같은 조건·같은 절차·데이터 기록 → 약점이 체크리스트로 보입니다.

Before you plan: TOPIK runs multiple sessions (paper-based and expanding IBT). Dates and registration windows vary by country—always confirm with your local Korean Education Center and the official portals.

  • Official portals: NIIED (English) and TOPIK.
  • Local notices (embassy/education center) publish your country’s exact date, venue, and registration method.

Use these sets for your weekend mock. Time yourself like the real test, then tag errors.

Note: These are practice aids. Always cross-check with official sample items and past papers.

Match Real Timing

TOPIK I (PBT): 100 min total → Listening 40 min (30Q), Reading 60 min (40Q).

TOPIK II (PBT): 180 min total → Listening 60 min (50Q) + Writing 50 min (4Q) + Reading 70 min (50Q).

IBT 참고: IBT는 지역/센터별 안내를 따르세요. 응시 형태(PBT/IBT)를 먼저 확인하고 시간표 그대로 테스트에 응시하면, 실제 시험에서도 긴장하지 않고 시험을 볼 수 있어요.

Your Weekly Mock Plan (Busy-Adult Friendly)

  1. Mon–Thu (45–60 min/day): Listening shadowing 15 → Grammar/Reading 20 → Vocab 10–15.
  2. Fri: Micro-drills (dictation for listening rhythm; 10–15 min).
  3. Sat or Sun: Full timed section (TOPIK I: one section / TOPIK II: two sections with break) → score → error-tag review 30 min.
  4. Monthly checkpoints: Week 4 (first full mock), Week 8 (gap-fix mock), Week 11 (exam-pace). 마지막 주는 가벼운 복습만.

Error Tags → One-Line Fixes

High Scorers Say

  • “Practice writing daily—just a few sentences. Focus on speed, not pretty letters.” / 매일 짧게라도 글 쓰기, 속도가 우선.
  • “Format matters. I scored well by sticking to the exact structure.” / 자주 틀리는 형식 연습으로 점수 확보.
  • “For Listening, pre-read options fast; YOLO items punish slow readers.” / 보기 스캔 속도가 핵심. 다양한 문제의 패턴을 파악하고 문제 풀기

Teacher’s Tips (Do This Now)

🎧 Listening Dictation, 10 minutes a day

Pause a short TV/news clip, write what you hear, then shadow the same lines. Your ear adapts to rhythm and speed fast.

드라마/뉴스 클립을 멈추고 받아쓰기 한 뒤 같은 문장을 따라 말해 보세요. 리듬과 속도에 빨리 익숙해집니다.

✍️ 5-minute warm-up: 3 sentences (EN → KR)

Write three simple sentences in English, then convert to Korean using exactly one connector (그리고/하지만/그래서). Keep each sentence 8–14 words.

영어로 3문장을 적고 한국어로 바꾸세요. 연결어는 하나만 쓰고, 문장은 8–14단어로 짧게 유지하세요.

⏱️ Pacing that wins marks

Listening: scan options → mark contrast cues (하지만/그래도) → catch numbers/time → confirm intent in the last line.

듣기: 보기 스캔 → 대조 신호 표시(하지만/그래도) → 숫자·시간 포착 → 마지막 문장에서 의도 확인.

🧠 Build systems, not willpower

Place your book, earbuds, and mock sheets within arm’s reach. Block a fixed mock time on Sat/Sun—let the calendar do the discipline.

책·이어폰·연습지를 손 닿는 곳에 두고 주말 고정 모의 시간 블록을 달력에 넣어 두세요. 의지가 아니라 시스템이 행동을 만듭니다.
