Ever say “He said he comes tomorrow” and see puzzled faces? Let’s fix reported speech and tense in 10 minutes.
기본은 원래 시제를 그대로 두면 돼요. 헷갈리면 “누가 말했나?”, “사실인지, 의견인지?”만 먼저 생각해 보세요.

- 회의·보고·카톡에서 어색하지 않게 말하고, TOPIK에서 감점 없이 쓰는 것이 목표예요.
📘 Core — Keep the original tense (then tweak for meaning)
- Neutral report verbs (say/hear/know → 말하다/듣다/알다): keep the original tense.
He said he will come tomorrow. → 그는 내일 온다고 말했다.
He said he came yesterday. → 그는 어제 왔다고 말했다.
팁: “말했다/들었다”면 원래 시제 그대로 두세요. - Thinking/guessing verbs (생각하다/추측하다): choose tense by stance.
I thought he would leave.
그가 떠난다고 생각했어요 / 떠날 거라고 생각했어요. (상황에 맞게 선택) - Commands & suggestions: use –(으)라고 하다.
He told me to come early. → 일찍 오라고 했어요.
She suggested we go together. → 같이 가자고 했어요.
명령/부탁/제안은 “…라고” 또는 “…자고”. - Questions: use –(으)냐고 묻다/하다, keep wh-words.
He asked where you live. → 어디 사느냐고 물었어요.
She asked why you were late. → 왜 늦었냐고 물었어요.
질문은 “…냐고”.

✍️ Examples (fixed common errors)
- ❌ 그는 내일 온다고 말했다요 → ✅ 그는 내일 온다고 말했다.
- ❌ 어제 왔다고 말했었다 → ✅ 어제 왔다고 말했다. 불필요한 과거완료 X
- ✅ 그는 지금 바쁘다고 했어요. / ✅ 나중에 가능하다고 했어요.
- ✅ 어디 가냐고 물었어요. / ✅ 몇 시에 시작하느냐고 물었어요.
- ✅ 서류를 오늘 내라고 했어요.

- –다고 / –(이)라고: statement vs noun quotes.
- Linkers: “~라고 해서…”, “~다고 하니…”.
- Formal endings: “~한다고 했습니다”, “~라고 전했습니다”.
- 시험 팁: 인용 조사와 높임말 정확히 쓰면 안정적이에요.

- “일찍 와.” → 일찍 오라고 했어요.
